With a band name that sounds like a onetime thing although barely a year old  i know they are here to stay, they are in fact here for all or nothing like their first single. I first heard of the band and their performance at the second metal and romance in June.

IN THE BEGINING

1Last Autograph (One Last Autograph) as they prefer to be written“1” not “ONE” was founded when Chike met Tolu and  Judah through a mutual friend who was also a rock fan  in Badagry , they spoke about starting a rock band and eventually performed at the second  Metal and romance in June after which Tolu left leaving Chike and Judah to source for more band mates, they later found  Sam , then Casey then Mario who had similar interest with them and the band was officially born.

They always had  issues apart from finances, they had problems with rehearsal ground as they couldn’t find a stable one especially with band mates living far apart like the guitarist Sam who had to come all the way from  Ikorodu for rehearsals

They are in the process of being signed by a record label but currently managed and co-managed by Sagay Reginald and Famutimi Femi

LIST OF SONGS

The band’s feature with rock artist clay was the first I heard from them and  like most people I was impressed and especially taken by the growl, we could say it was the first time a growl was officially heard in a Nigerian song and i commend them for that. Personally i can’t wait to hear the song performed live at least to see growl and drum come to Life.

MUSIC STYLE AND INFLUENCES

“Down” featuring clay was said to be in the post hardcore genre, they band has also said they are in the genre and also punk

They said they have been influenced by quite a number for foreign band , A day to remember, All Time Low, Blink 182, Nirvana, For Today, The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Yellowcard , Of Mice and Men, Memphis May Fire, Sleeping With Sirens, Crown The Empire, Red, Switchfoot, and Daughtry

1 LAST AUTOGRAPH

when we asked the lead singer what 1LA means this is what he has to say

"1 last autograph symbolizes this unsatisfactory nature of man, one more this and one more that, we just never get enough. We just keep pushing our limits trying to create something new something worthy of an autograph. like we have car companies come up with new models, movies getting crazier, artist being expressive, porn getting more seductive. this world is just fucking crazy, the moment we hold on to some new stuff, a better one comes. in a nut shell the essence of life being more creative never having enough. that is what makes us want to keep on living"

i personally love this band, maybe its because i see the struggle they have to go through to be heard and yet they keep on going, maybe its harder because of the region we are and the fact that the rock genre is a growing genre here, sometimes i define uniques, creativity and good stuff as something an average Nigerian wouldn't appreciate, so in my own words i see the band at the last autograph i need to collect or have that would last forever, that one last thing that when you get you'll need no more, i hope to see them sellout venues in a short time but that would only happen if we hold on to this genre that we love and let it be heard

The Rockaz world Questions
We love to ask two questions and this originated from the Rockaz World Whatsapp Group

1)     If an orphanage needed your nude to survive would you present it?
2)     Do you prefer Yellow Garri or Ijebu garri

When we asked the band mates this was what we got from those that answer                     (^ _-)

Question 1

Chike said " he would send" .So yay for the orphans? How much would that fetch?

Judah said "i'll go nude if the orphan was a chic and was in front of him" and so the orphan got pregnant , married judah and gave birth to eleven more

Sam said "i will love to send nudes, since its for charity" . so the some orphans went on to be doctors and some reality starts

Casey said "yes i would"  now that is a hero

Mario said "NO"  after which the orphans left his apartment sad and fell over the bridge

And the managers Sagay and Femi refused to share the nude so the orphans died of starvation

Question 2

Chike said "ijebu garri for life"
Judah said "I prefer ijebu Garri"
Sam said "i love ijebu garri"
Casey said "i love ijebu garri"
Mario said "ijebu oh"

Naija Rock Acts

The Nigerian rock scene has been an empty hallway for a long time now with only few artists worthy enough to grace the walls, most of this artists didn't give a care to the genre tho, they were placed by rock fans in a desperate attempt to build a foundation, these artists where selected based on uniques of appearance, sound and lyrical content.
Slowly the genre has gained a voice, not loud enough but a voice however thanks to some courageous artists, I'll take a minute to review these artists using one of their tracks

Clay
When i first heard clay's Anwuli in 2011 the first thing that came to my mind was Dolores
O'Riordan  of the 90's band The Cranberries, this chic had a set of vocals like her, then i saw her appearance she had the look,
This Pop Rock artist is by name  Bianca Okorocha, she started in 2009 when she met producer ColdFlames , she hasn't looked back since then, she would perform at the Jack Daniels Concert next month
Her track Lemmaya (Look Into My Eyes) is a favourite to Nigerian rock fans her perfect blend of ibo into the genre is something
"My Heart Dey Beat Like Say I go die..... Lemmany" , she has videos for "Lemanya" and "Ogadisimma"
She is wonderful to be around her cover and mash up of jailer / save tonight is  another piece to behold

Alexander Esan
Alex was the lead singer of the band DISCONNECT (NEO) the band that  brought us "Nepa Bring The Light" and "Disconnect" , every Nigerian rock fan has a history with this band, they are the genesis,
The band since disbanded with Alex pursing a solo career and also writer/back up vocal Mario xtreme doing his own thing.
Alex sings under Comfort Recordz with manager Dr John Oamen, he sights Avril Lavigne, Cold Play, Aero Smith, 3doors down and Michael Bubble as inspiration. His single "Its In The Way" is worth every MB, the counter tenor singer also inputs the Nigerian Pidgin in his lyrics bringing rock home
"Shebi Shebi you are the one for me"
The alternative rock singer has a video for the above named single

Ese Peter
This dude has a strong set of  tenor vocals that would catch your attention
He has quite a number of singles to his credit but the track "Omote"  has a wonderful feel to it and a personal favourite , the songs talk about him giving all he has for a girl (Omote)
The guitar playing song writer hails from delta state and is signed to zodiac killer records .
I do admire his writing skills, the track "Omote" falls in the soft rock and paino rock genre,.

Suyi Davies
Although his genre isn't quite defined as the only track i have of him is his cover of the Abba classical which is made to sound like the piano rock genre
He was born Osasuyi  Okungbowa is a graduate of Geotechnical Engineering.
The tenor II singer has massive control of his cords which can be seen/heard in this cover of the track, i really hope to hear from him soon

A band called FUNERAL FOR A FRIEND

Well apart from having an awesome band name, album title like  SEE YOU IN HELL and track title BEST FRIENDS AND HOSPITAL BEDS, this band is good for the money
Although began in 2001 by lead vocalist
Matthew Davies-Kreye they did achieve much fame until 2003 with premier album  "Casually Dressed & Deep in Conversation".
You see their ability to come up with these names keep me glued.. This is the kind of band you mention to your friends and your best band and they would pack up and move to the north..
Although the band has drifted a lil within the years, they came fully back of track with there 2013 album CONDUIT. their music style has been define as post-hardcore, metal

Try tracks like
Front row seat to the end of the world
Broken foundation
Bend your arms to look like a wing

If you dont like em, I'll pay you for money spent right after amy lee gives birth to my son

Issues (Band)

Issues is a band formed in the summer of 2012 by lead vocalist of Woe,is me Tyler Carter , they were featured on the POP GOES PUNK 5 album covering Justin Beibers "boyfriend"
Band released an Ep titled black diamond with lead single "king of Amarillo"
You know if Fall Out Boys were to switch to metal now, this is what they probably would sound like, their musical style has been defined as metal core with r&b more like melodic metal ... They sound awesome also try tracks like NINE OF A LIFE, BLACK DIAMOND AND THE WORST OF THEM...
I promise they are odd,

Why You Need To Get Albums

Its awesome when you have few tracks of a band and listen but you can never truly understand or love a band to the extent that you have eargasm or you cum while listening like AMY LEE does to me... And P.S she is pregnant for me and we are gonna have little freaks.... Ok back to story...you cant truly feel them unless you have their album.. Because half the time.. In fact all of the time, the tracks you hear are the commercial ones.. Made for all lovers of good music to like. But you see when you access an album you know what the band truly is, whats their vision is, who they are, all the nasty things they gat going on in there heads. You see, the rest of the tracks in an album are probably where record labels allow bands to be them selves and experiment..
So by listening to the complete album of a band then you can truly know if you love them !!!"!!!

Comedy rock

Some of you may have known of this genre for a while but i just found this out as a genre and am loving it especially after listening to "BEELZEBOSS" by  TENACIOUS D from album THE PICK OF DESTINY . its a freaking hilarious genre as the name implies and its fun. its basically just the lyrics that changes and the  best part is that you can enjoy it in heavy metal, metal, hard and any other thing your heads can carry
Comedy Rock is rock music that has designed to poke fun at rock traditions, as well as mainstream society. It is humorous both in its musical attack and in its lyrics. Sometimes comedy rock can be sophomoric -- its godfather, Frank Zappa, loved jokes about fecal matter and big boobs -- but at its best, it cleverly skewers clichés and conventions.
